1947-2016

Gerald “Jerry” Francis Griffith, 68, of Kennedale, TX, passed away on July 9, 2016, from a heart attack.

The memorial service will be held on July 29, 2016 at 11:00am at Life Fellowship Church

611 Little School Rd. Kennedale, TX. Burial will follow the memorial at the DFW National Cemetery at 1:00pm.

Jerry was born in Freedom, NY on December 21, 1947 to Charles & Lillian Griffith. He graduated from Tonawanda High School and joined the Navy. After serving in the Navy for 4 years, he worked in the aerospace industries including Lock-head Martin, Northrup, and Bell Helicopter as an Engineer where he retired in 2013. Through this time he served in the United States Air Force Air National Guard where he retired after 21 years of service. After retirement he pursued a career as a Level 3 Security Guard for APS Security, and worked at Advanced Auto as a delivery driver.

He enjoyed riding his trike, woodworking, craft fairs, and volunteering in multiple organizations. He was actively involved in CMA, Racer’s Church, BTW, American Legion, Men’s Breakfast, and volunteered as a cook for many other functions.

Jerry is survived by his step-mother, Alice Saunders of North Tonawanda, NY, life partner, Betty Hatton of Kennedale, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & David Hawkins of Las Vegas, NV, step-daughter Anne-Marie Koppy of Mansfield, TX, step-son & daughter-in-law, Bryan & Michelle Herendeen of Arlington, TX, step-daughter & son-in-law, Becky & Kent McKinnis of Hutchinson, KS, step-son & daughter-in-law, Ben & Kristin Hatton of Collinsville, TX, grandchildren, Henry, Cody, Zoey, Patrick, Zach, & Wyatt, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, Shirley Griffith, and Theresa Griffith.
