Richard "R.C." Garner (1941 - 2013)

Richard "R.C." Garner, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, lost his courageous battle to cancer Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
 <br>Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
 <br>Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Legion Post 516 in memory of Richard "R.C." Garner.
 <br>Richard was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 516, a past commander, and a lifetime member of VFW. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 1348.<br>Richard proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
 <br>He was preceded in death by his beloved and loyal dog, Prince. Survivors: Wife, Polly Garner; son, Andy and wife, Karen; daughters, Angie and husband, Thomas Kirkpatrick, and Shelley Sanders; brothers, Curtis, Dennis and Walter Whitfield; grandchildren, Jacob, Alexis, Bailey, Hailey, Kristal and Little Roy; and great-grandchild, Dezirae.
