Samuel "Sam" Matthew McCoy Jr. (1923 - 2012)

Samuel Matthew McCoy Jr., 88, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, 75211. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association. He was born Dec. 7, 1923, in New Orleans, La. Sam proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a flight engineer in World War II and retired as a major in 1965. He went on to become a flight instructor for American Airlines and retired 25 years later. Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Jane; sons, Samuel Matthew McCoy and wife, Kathy, of Austin, Terrence Patrick McCoy and wife, Cindy, of Houston; daughter, Patricia Marie Forster and husband, Herb, of Arlington; sisters, Sally Boyd and husband, Ken, of Tulia, and Cathy Dies of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

My Dad related what great friends you two have been to them (and all us Savages') for the past 35 years or more and the great fun you guys had together.
